Jim Slauson has been teaching Art History and Humanities courses at MIAD for over 20 years. While holding his students to high standards, he enjoys learning with them and from them, in and outside of the classroom. He has led on-sight educational experiences both in the Midwest and abroad. His publications include articles on Mediterranean art and culture, as well as writing on art and design locally and internationally. Most recently, he authored numerous entries for the Bloomsbury Encyclopedia of Design (London) to be published in 2015.
Jim enjoys community involvement in the Milwaukee area, and lectures frequently at locations such as St. John’s On the Lake, and in the Milwaukee Public Library’s Krug Rare Books Room series. Jim is a devoted family man, and enjoys Green Bay Packers football almost as much as Milwaukee Brewers baseball.
