PROCESO DE SOLICITUD
A partir del 1 de septiembre, MIAD invita a presentar solicitudes de admisión a las clases de otoño y primavera. La mayoría de los estudiantes tradicionales comienzan en el semestre de otoño. Las clases del semestre de primavera comienzan a principios de enero.
FECHAS IMPORTANTES
1 DE OCTUBRE: Solicita ayuda financiera
1 DE DICIEMBRE: Fecha de solicitud anticipada
15 DE FEBRERO: Fecha límite de prioridad de solicitud y becas
1 de MAYO: Envía tu depósito de matrícula para confirmar tu lugar en la clase de otoño
1 DE AGOSTO: Fecha límite de solicitud final de otoño
LISTA DE VERIFICACIÓN DE ADMISIONES
- Solicitud gratuita en línea
- Expedientes oficiales o informe de GED
- Entrega del portafolio
- Puntuaciones ACT / SAT (recomendado pero no obligatorio)
- Cartas de recomendación (recomendadas pero no obligatorias)
Solicitud: Envía su solicitud en línea completa con un ensayo opcional.
Expedientes oficiales: Solicita a tu escuela preparatoria y a todas las instituciones postsecundarias a las que asististe que presenten una copia oficial de tus expedientes. Si recibió una equivalencia de escuela preparatoria, solicita que se le envíen tus puntajes de GED a la Junta de Educación de tu estado. Si obtuviste una licenciatura, envía sólo un expediente final de la universidad donde obtuvo su título.
Portafolio: Se requiere un portafolio para todos los solicitantes. Obtén más información sobre cómo crear su portafolio, enviar su portafolio para completar su solicitud y formas de recibir comentarios sobre su portafolio de un representante de admisiones.

Fashion students design adaptive clothing for Independence First
For the second year in a row, Fashion and Apparel Design students at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD) worked with Independence First to design adaptive clothing tailor-made for two employees. The project is part of a junior-level Patternmaking & Construction course.
MIAD Values Recognition Award: Nichole Uecker
Nichole Uecker, Student Accessibility Coordinator, received the October 2025 MIAD Values Recognition Award at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD). Nichole’s nominations highlighted her embodiment of MIAD’s Core Values, especially Community, Inclusion and Kindness.
Personal and professional passion inspire Product Design student
When senior Carmen Briones’ mother was diagnosed with breast cancer during Briones’ sophomore year at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD), finding a bra that was comfortable with a medical port became an additional challenge. Briones ’26 (Product Design) answered that challenge in her Design for Human Interface class by designing a product that reduces pain while increasing mobility.

When she first got the internship offer from Squishmallows at Jazwares, Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD) senior Melody Frias ’26 (Communication Design and Illustration) thought she was in shock. Months after the internship concluded, Frias still reads that email when she needs a boost.
