Kayle Karbowski ’15 was accepted to the 2016 Hotbox residency in Austin, Texas hosted by Mass Gallery. Each artist accepted as a Hotbox resident participates in MASS’s public engagement series, Close Encounters –  a program designed to provide new methods of engaging the public’s curiosity. Karbowski’s travel was funded through the prestigious Mary L. Nohl Suitcase Export Fund.

Tonia Klein ’07 has a solo show at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center running now until September 3rd.

Anthony Suminski ’69 received a national finalist award from “The Artists Magazine” for his egg tempera painting entitled “Walking Horses.”

Danielle Rosen ’11 was interviewed on 
Inside/Within as part of her collaboration with “Made up with Danny Volk.”

Maeve Jackson ’14 and Keith Nelson ’00 were awarded by the Mary L. Nohl Suitcase Export Fund to attend Hotel Pupik, an artist-in-residence program in Scheifling, Austria for the months of July and August.

Brian Kuether ’85 was commissioned to paint two murals for St. Mary’s Church in Kansasville, WI.

Artists Sabin Aell, Nina Ghanbarzadeh and Nirmal Raja ’08 illustrate their pasts through art, drawing from a tapestry of experiences stemming from living outside of their traditional cultures in Material Girls, on display at MIAD until September 17.

Recent Illustration graduate Gabriela Riveros ’16 put her creative talents to work designing the 2016 Milwaukee Film Festival campaign art. The 2016 Milwaukee Film Festival takes place September 22  to October 6.

Lydia Yang ’12 is now Art Director at Monarch Creative, Inc.

Pete Olsen ’04 is an Art Instructor at Arts N Spirits: Laugh, Drink, Paint, in Chicago.

Holly Vanderbusch ’08 recently became an Art Therapist for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.

Shannon Ingles ’16 is the Service Designer at Jump Trading Simulation and Education Center.

Jean-Marc Bastien ’16 became a footwear design intern for Weyco Group, Inc.

Colton Gruber ’16 is now a Creative Sculptor at General Motors for Aerotek.


2011 alumnus Alex Groh’s Muddy Water Press in now entering its third year, and is quickly outgrowing its current home in Davenport, Iowa. They are looking for a new home in Milwaukee or Minneapolis to move their print shop. They are also looking for someone with a background in screen-printing to join their small, design-focused, growing shop as a partner, or part-time employee. Anyone with information for shop space, or interested in joining the shop can email Alex at

The AICAD Studio Practice Residency in New York City is open for applications for this Fall. This is a great opportunity for recent (or not so recent) grads already in New York looking for dedicated studio space and a boost to their professional development.
