Happy New Year – January 2016
|
|
Please join me in supporting the class of 2016!
|
|
Be part of the 2016 Senior Exhibition! Help support our seniors as they embark on fabricating and installing their exhibition by donating to the Alumni Thesis Scholarship Awards. We know only too well the financial challenges involved in achieving a dream exhibition.
The money donated by alumni, and alumni alone, goes directly to the students selected to receive the awards. It’s all up to us – the money raised will determine the number of awards and the amounts awarded. Last year we were able to give out three $500 scholarships. This year the goal is to raise $2,500 , and to award five scholarships in February.
Join me in supporting the creative endeavors of the class of 2016.

If everyone who receives this email gives just $5 or $10 dollars we would be able to award scholarships to OVER 16 SENIORS.

“I Wish Someone Told Me That!”

|
The Alumni Association is starting a new initiative for MIAD juniors to provide
Professional Development Workshops.
We need alumni volunteers that are working in areas such as Artist Studios, Galleries, Museums, Art Organizations, Cultural/Community Centers, Education and other fine art related industries. This is your chance to share professional information you wish you would have known while at MIAD.
Please consider participating on Wednesday, March 23 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
(free dinner starting at 5:30 p.m.)
In collaboration with MIAD’s Advising and Career Services area, this first Professional Development Workshop will be for selected junior fine arts students. Alumni will provide one-on-one practice interviews, helping students prepare for professional interviews as they pursue internships. Students will experience different interview styles, learn questions that are often asked during an interview, and receive constructive feedback on their interview performance.
Future events are being planned for students in other majors.
