Designship logo nets award from Milwaukee Adworkers

The Designship logo received a merit award in the logo design category of the 2018 Adworkers Milwaukee 99 Show.

Designship is a MIAD apprenticeship/training program for MIAD design graduates in Southeastern Wisconsin.

The Milwaukee 99 Show is the annual awards show for the SE Wisconsin advertising community, presented by the United Adworkers.

Ariana Vaeth wins $15,000 fellowship

Ariana Vaeth ’17 (Integrated Studio Arts) is one of three recipients of a new $15,000 fellowship (and studio space) from the Fellowship.art program. There were 140 applicants. More information.

MIAD students win Association of Rotational Molders design competition

Three MIAD Industrial Design seniors are the winners of the 2018 Design Competition of the Association of Rotational Molders (ARM).

• Miyu Takisawa, 1st place, $2,000 prize
• Laurel McKernan, 2nd place, $1,000 prize
• Trever Krueger, 3rd place, $500 prize

Miyu, Laurel and Trever entered this competition during their Materials & Manufacturing 3 course.

Alayna Lemmer Danner ’08 has been named a Featured Artist at GenCon 2018

Alayna Lemmer Danner ’08 (Illustration) chosen as Featured Artist at GenCon 2018. According to the GenCon website, GenCon is “the largest consumer hobby, fantasy, science fiction, and adventure game convention in North America.” Alayna is employed as a freelance illustrator and concept artist.

Industrial Design student’s Delta Faucet design now patent-pending

Logan Gage ’18 (Industrial Design) won first place in the 2017 Delta Faucet Design Contest, a collaboration between MIAD and Delta Faucet. His design is now patent-pending. He also recently received an honorable mention at the 2018 International Housewares Association’s 25th Annual Student Design Competition for his twist jar opener design.
