Alumni Reunion
MIAD is about to embark on a remarkable milestone – the celebration of MIAD’s 50th Anniversary.
We invite the MIAD alumni community back to the MIAD main campus for an all-class Alumni Reunion, October 20-21, 2023. Re-connect with your fellow MIAD, MSA and Layton School of Art alums, to relive cherished memories and celebrate our shared history.
Alumni Reunion takes place during Gallery Night & Day MKE – a thrilling time to be back at MIAD and in the Historic Third Ward! Learn about new programs available to the next generation of creatives, as well as seeing the dynamic changes to the main campus on a guided tour. The weekend will offer a chance to view the exhibition Predecessor: Works from the Layton School of Art, as well as to visit and hear about Gallery at The Ave – MIAD’s first offsite gallery.
Alumni Reunion begins with a cocktail reception, Friday, October 20, 2023, 5-7pm, as Milwaukee’s Third Ward celebrates Gallery Night MKE. Start your exciting evening at MIAD, getting re-acquainted with classmates and making new connections!
The celebration doesn’t end with the cocktail reception! On Saturday, we are excited to host a full-day event that will re-engage you with the college’s student, alumni, and philanthropic activities. From inspiring talks to tours – this day promises to be an enriching experience that fosters a deeper connection to your alma mater and to the next generation of MIAD creatives.

- Visit the Lubar Innovation Center which connects students to paid client projects!
- What is a Risograph printer and why do students prefer it for today’s colorful Zines? Find out!
- Talk with current MIAD students about their work, internships, and what it’s like to be a River Rat in 2023!
- Get your swag on at the MIAD pop-up shop with new items and retro 50th Anniversary swag.

1:15pm Join us on a visit to MIAD Gallery at The Ave (301 W. Wisconsin Ave. Suite 104).
- Hear from Gallery Manager, Monica Miller ’13, about alumni consignment and showing opportunities! Interact with MIAD students at 2023 Zine Fest, while rotating DJs spin sick beats. Shop for unique alumni & student items in the Gallery at The Ave consignment shop.
2:30pm Reunion closing
