Art History Professor Chris Szczesny-Adams, Ph.D., is curator of "E. Townsend Mix: Architect of Distinction," running through August 16 at the Monroe Arts Center.

This first-ever exhibit dedicated to Mix, who designed more than 300 structures from New York to Nebraska, provides a contextural history of his architecture, patrons and design progressions. Mix is described as having revolutionized the Midwest with his sophisticated architecture. Opening reception is Thursday, June 19, 5 p.m., with a gallery talk by Szczesny-Adams. The exhibition is designed by Professor of Communication Design Dale Shidler. For more information, visit monroeartscenter.com.
