Peterson entryErik Peterson ’10 (Sculpture) and current Sculpture major Andrea Guzzetta were chosen as finalists in NICHE Magazine’s Student Design Competition. The competition began in 1989 to celebrate excellence and innovation in American and Canadian fine craft.

Peterson and Guzzetta were selected from among 700 entrants.

Peterson is a finalist for his entry in the “Mixed & Miscellaneous Media” category.  Guzzetta was selected for her submission in the “Fashion Accessories” category.

Peterson and Guzzetta submitted work completed as part of the Sculpture curriculum.

MIAD’s Sculpture Program focuses on technical knowledge and offers advanced specialization, with courses in figure sculpture, alternative media, public art and foundry.  Graduates of the program go on to fulfill commissions for private and public sculptures, and show work in prominent galleries around the world.

Guzzetta entryPeterson and Guzzetta join 58 other finalists invited to display their work at a special exhibition in Philadelphia this February.
