More than 250 parents, students and family members attended the 2010 Parent/Partner Day in October, marking another year of record attendance.

Chris Root (right) of Cramer-Krasselt gives parents a tour of this second largest advertising agency in the United States, where MIAD students intern. C-K is located in The Third Ward.

Following brunch, the day began with interactive workshops that included experiencing how students learn the freshmen year, discussing works of art and student artwork, and Life After MIAD – the opportunity to ask graduates of varied majors questions about their careers and paths they took to achieve them.

Alumnus Nick Waraksa shows parents Blend Studios, a creative collective he co-owns whose services include 2D/3D motion graphics, video production, story boarding, sound design and DVD authoring. Blend is located in The Historic Third Ward.

From there parents moved on to tours of area galleries, exhibitions, studios and design firms led by students, faculty and staff. They ended the day with a reception at the Generate exhibition of alumni work.
