MIAD seniors receive 2026 Alumni Senior Thesis Awards

Thanks to the incredible generosity of alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the college, the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD) will award a record $7,150 to an unprecedented 51 seniors in direct support of fabricating their senior exhibition capstone projects. Through the application process, students submit plans, images and sketches of their final projects, as well as detailed budgets for needed materials. Winners were selected by a panel of 56 MIAD alumni with experience in fine art and design career fields.

In MIAD’s 2026 Senior Exhibition running April 17 – May 9, talented seniors boldly challenge societal expectations while finding awe amid our rapidly changing world. The showcase celebrates these workforce-ready creative professionals across all of MIAD’s Bachelor of Fine Arts majors, programs and minors. Explore our galleries and meet the inspiring Class of 2026. Graduating students will be present on Friday, April 17, 5 – 9 p.m. to discuss their projects in person. The event is free and open to the public. Learn more at miad.edu/seniorexhibition.
