The Milwaukee Artist Resource Network (MARN) is partnering with MIAD to present the 2010 Mentor/Mentee Exhibition May 27 – June 25 in the college’s Brooks Stevens Gallery.

An Opening Reception was held at MIAD Thursday, May 27, from 5 – 9 p.m., with a performance at 7:30 p.m.

Each year MARN pairs established artists with emerging artists to work together for nine months and then to exhibit the mentors’ and their protégés’ work.

Among the close to 30 participating artists are MIAD alumni Alisa Toninato ’05, Jessie Spiess ’09, Molly McKee ’98, kathryn e. martin ’01 and Christopher MacDonald ’08, and faculty Fahimeh Vahdat, A. Bill Miller and Robert Smith.

Founded in 2000 by six local artists, MARN is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the community by supporting individual literary, performing and visual artists. MARN empowers artists with access to educational and professional resources, creates a network for communication and collaboration, and sponsors arts-related events, making the arts accessible to people of all economic and educational backgrounds.
