Kasey’s Fund
Kasey’s Fund at MIAD is a transformative initiative dedicated to expanding access, equity, and opportunity for students with disabilities. Inspired by the life of Kasey Tillisch, who was born with cognitive and physical disabilities and is the daughter of longstanding MIAD board member Deanna Tillisch and her husband, Eric, the fund honors her story by supporting others. It responds to the increasingly complex challenges students face today, including unmet basic needs, mental health concerns, and the rising prevalence of documented disabilities.

With 42% of MIAD students identifying as having a disability, which is double the national average, the need for coordinated and comprehensive support has never been more urgent. Kasey’s Fund directly responds to this need by strengthening the college’s infrastructure for student success.
Kasey’s Fund, through your donation, will provide the essential investment to hire a second Student Accessibility Coordinator, ensuring students with disabilities receive timely, individualized support and advocacy. This gift transforms MIAD’s capacity to meet growing student needs and anchors a lasting campus culture of access and equity.
Additionally, an endowment will be established to provide funding for professional development workshops on neurodivergence, mental health and inclusive teaching, ensuring faculty and staff keep current with strategies to help students succeed.
