The power of well-executed design in everyday life and MIAD students’ dedication to service come to life through an exhibition of posters designed in partnership with Penfield Children’s Center, a non-profit organization serving at-risk infants and children, and Cramer-Krasselt, a major national advertising agency.

The posters, designed for Penfield’s 15th Annual Croquet Ball benefit and on view in MIAD’s Entrance Gallery from Gallery Night July 23 through August, culminate a project by Professor Christiane Grauert and her advanced Illustration students in spring 2010.

The first-place winning poster, by Lillian Duermeier ’11, will be sold during the Live Auction at the Croquet Ball on September 11, 2010. The second- and third-place winners, by Marisa Sequin and Agnieszka Wojnar, respectively, will be sold during the benefit’s silent auction.

“It’s clear that students took the time to learn about Penfield – the children they serve and their distinct needs – and that they worked hard to creatively incorporate that sentiment into their work,” said Betsy Brown Wyatt, Penfield board member and executive vice president and managing director for Cramer-Krasselt, the firm that first introduced Penfield and MIAD several years ago and art directed the project.
