MIAD Alumni won numerous awards this weekend (September 21-23) at 2007 Hidden River Art Festival on the grounds of the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts in Brookfield. Best in Show went to Aron Meudt, two of the three Juror’s Choice awards went to Melissa Dorn Richards and Emily Siegel Belknap, and one of four Honorable Mentions went to Katie Musolff. Award jurors were Brooks Barrow of Brooks Barrow Gallery and Jennifer Jankauskas, Associate Curator at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center.
Current MIAD students also volunteered to run the hands-on education tent, facilitating art projects with families and children. They were incredibly busy all weekend.
The festival, the largest of its kind featuring solely Wisconsin artists, included 80 exhibiting artists working in a variety of media.
