Four exhibitions by talented emerging and established artists and designers, including high-school students, bring works in all mediums to MIAD on Gallery Night/Day and beyond. The Arts & The Rivers and the Pre-College MAJORS Exhibitions also include juried and scholarship awards.

Enjoy a reception on the Riverwalk and view the finalists from the second annual Milwaukee Riverkeeper’s Arts & the Rivers Contest in the Entrance Gallery.  Artists celebrate area rivers in a variety of media: from watercolor landscapes to photography to a massive river scroll.  More information at milwaukeeriverkeeper.org

July 29 – 30: Preview the 6th Annual Milwaukee Fine Furnishings & Fine Craft Show; River Level Gallery

On view are works by more than 15 of the show’s accomplished exhibitors, including MIAD alum Martin Vertacnik ’09 (Interior Architecture and Design), and by MIAD students. From September 30 – October 2, the full 6th Annual Fine Furnishings & Fine Craft Show is on view at the Harley-Davidson Museum Garage, with additional works by MIAD students.  More information.

July 30: Inaugural Pre-College MAJORS Exhibition Awards Ceremony & Reception
9:30 – noon, Brooks Stevens Gallery
Celebrate the talents of high school artists and designers attending the 2011 Pre-College MAJORS program from around the country. The morning also includes career exploration and an inaugural awards ceremony to present scholarships to MIAD’s 2012 Pre-College and Fall 2012 Bachelor of Fine Arts degree programs. More information on both programs at miad.edu.

MIAD’s Galleries are open 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday. Admission is free.
