Tara Bogart
Tara Bogart is a visual artist based in both Milwaukee and Paris, working across photography, alternative processes, printmaking, and video. Her work explores themes of identity, selfhood, and womanhood, often drawing from personal and cultural narratives.
A Milwaukee native, Tara has a longstanding connection to the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD), where she worked and taught for eight years before moving to Paris. With over 17 years of teaching experience, she brings a rich perspective to the classroom, shaped by her time in both American and French artistic communities. She holds an MA in Photography and Image Making from The Paris College of Art, where she also taught for almost a decade.
Her work has been exhibited internationally and featured in The New Yorker, CNN, ZOOM, Lenscratch, Urbanutica, and VICE. She was a finalist for the Portrait Prize at the National Portrait Gallery in London and has exhibited at The Newport Art Museum, Photo LA, The Alice Wilds Gallery, and the Bastille Design Center in Paris, among others. Her work is included in the permanent collections of the Bibliothèque nationale de France, J.Crew, The St. Kate Art Hotel, and numerous private collections.
Tara continues to cultivate artistic relationships abroad while calling both Milwaukee and Paris home.
