EloGlo, “Hj Bullard”
I’m Hj (they/them). I’m highly motivated by a strong sense of Environmental Justice, and the knowledge that diversity, representation and education (informal and formal) are fundamental to healthy communities, environments, and people.
I came to MIAD to accept a teaching job in Service Learning, and have spent several years learning about Milwaukee, nurturing local partnerships, connecting students with community leaders and volunteering. My graduate degrees (New York and Wisconsin) focused on cultural and environmental history and science through the arts as a multimedia storyteller. Through my work (both locally and internationally) I have also explored oceans and sea life, fresh water, urban growing, and the Disabled and LGBTQ+ communities, of which I am a part.
I now work mostly directly with local communities and organizations to create partnerships that can offer representation and inclusion in Justice-centered ways. These have included Milwaukee Public Museum, BloomMKE, TRUE Skool, House of History, Victory Garden Initiative and The MARM Farm.
Fun fact: My trifecta is wild swimming from our canoe while birding!!
