Interior Architecture and Design grad lands zoological design job

What profession combines art and zoology, science and architecture and even botany? Jenna Sedovic ’23 double majored in Interior Architecture and Design and Illustration at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD) to pursue her dream career: becoming a zoological designer.

By studying illustration in conjunction with architecture, Sedovic tailored her MIAD experience to a specific, specialized end goal. In her path to becoming a zoological designer, she completed every class assignment to align with her interests in zoology, science and conservation. Not only did she double major, Sedovic also pursued a minor in Science. For one of her science credits, she worked with a botany professor at MIAD to create an entirely new course on zoological landscapes.

Shortly before graduating, Sedovic was in the final stages of interviewing at several architecture firms. “I’m seeing the list of requirements and I’m meeting every single one of those because I’ve built those skills across the disciplines that I’ve been working with,” she explains. Sedovic started a position at WDM Architects as a zoological designer in June 2023.
