Edith Hibbard, a longtime supporter of MIAD, passed away on September 29, 2022. She and her husband William Hibbard (1927-2020) established the Cookie Hibbard Scholarship in honor of their late daughter Mary Ellen “Cookie” Hibbard.

Four MIAD students and two alumni completed a quilt-themed mural on the new Taxco Apartments in Milwaukee’s Walker’s Point neighborhood. The company developing the new apartments, Mandel Group, Inc., contacted the MIAD Lubar Innovation Center to source artists for the project.

Artist featured in MIAD exhibition named McKnight Foundation Distinguished Artist

Douglas R. Ewart, an interdisciplinary artist from Minnesota whose work spans musical performance, instrument making, painting and teaching, was named the 2022 McKnight Foundation Distinguished Artist. Ewart is currently displaying work in MIAD’s “Then as Now: Woodland Pattern 1980-2022” gallery exhibition.
