rickun-webStudents and alumni took home multiple medals and merit awards at the Milwaukee 99 United Adworkers Awards Show, dominating in many categories.

Josh Rickun ’13 (Communication Design) was named the Student Winner, receiving Gold for his “Cafeteria Rebranding Campaign” under Instructor Ashley Potter. Rickun also won a Merit Award for “Benny’s Junk Shop Identity Graphics + Trade Show,” for which Potter was also the instructor.

Rickun said this win was validation for his growth and accomplishment after nearly a decade of personal struggles, “To have my name etched on an over-sized gold nut feels wonderful.” He joked, “I’ve tried wearing it as a necklace, but it hurts my neck after about a minute.”

Danaya Khartchenko ’12 (Time-Based Media – Animation) and Michael Marten ’13 (Communication Design) were models for the Merit Award-winning “REINE 1 + REINE 2,” with Chair of 2D/4D Design Phil Belair as the instructor.
