Industrial Design students explored the nuances of car design on February 18 with Visiting Designer Steve Pintar, Fiesta Chief Program Engineer. During a presentation on the design elements of the 2011 Ford Fiesta, students had the opportunity to ask a 21-year veteran of product development questions relating to all aspects of interior and exterior design, from concepting, sketching and development to manufacturing, and the all important relationship with product engineers. Pintar challenged students in the standing-room only presentation to “be creative, and to collaborate with others on the design team without giving up. Acknowledge constraints and work within them to come up with your creative ideas.”
