Since graduating from MIAD, Laura has continued her training in visual arts by attending two drawing marathons at the New York studio School. Her most current body of work consists of drawings and paintings which explore color relationships and the underlying grid inherent in all rectangular compositions. She searches for color harmonies and then willingly disrupts them by usuing a dissonant hue so as to create rhythm and emphasis within the compostition. She uses the grid visible and implied- to give the abstract compositions structure which evokes space and atmosphere. the marks are loose, resulting in a layered, textile-like appearance.
