HOUSING
2011/2012 Academic Year Costs

MIAD has partnered with The Park at 1824 to provide housing for students beginning in fall 2011.  The Park at 1824 is an apartment-style residence hall, providing single and double occupancy rooms in two- or three-bedroom furnished apartments with fully equipped kitchens.

The average single-occupancy room cost is $6,450 and the average double-occupancy room cost is $5,850 for the academic year.

The Park at 1824 will be 100% MIAD student occupied in fall 2011.

Degree-seeking students, under 21 years of age, living outside of the 45 mile Milwaukee area radius are required to live in the Residence Hall for their Foundations year.

FOOD
2011/2012 Academic Year Costs
Since MIAD’s residence hall, The Park at 1824, offers fully equipped kitchens, there is no required meal plan for students.  MIAD uses the College Board’s estimate for food costs for the duration of the academic year, although this cost will vary based on individual eating preferences.  The estimated cost for food is $1,960 per academic year.

90% of all MIAD students receive some form of Institutional, State or Federal financial assistance.

MIAD students use the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for financial aid.

MIAD awards numerous merit-based scholarships to incoming students who demonstrate artistic and academic achievement. Scholarships range from partial tuition to full tuition.

MIAD's campus is located in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward, the city's official arts district, bordered by the Milwaukee River and Lake Michigan. The college offers one of the largest, safest, and most comprehensive art and design environments in the United States. Its campus occupies four historic buildings:

  • The Jane Bradley Pettit Building, 273 E. Erie Street: In 1992, after a complete renovation, the college moved into this facility. Our main academic building offers students, faculty, and staff 245,000 square feet of space on five floors.
  • The Park at 1824, MIAD's new residence hall, 1824 E. Park Place: Offers students apartment-style living with upscale amenities, including flat-screen HDTVs, leather furniture and stainless steel appliances in every apartment, an on-site fitness center, lounge and laundry, and optional underground, heated parking.
  • Student Union, 266 East Erie Street (directly across the street from the Jane Bradley Pettit Building): Our Student Union is one of the oldest structures in the Historic Third Ward. It was completely renovated during the summer of 1997 by MIAD students and designed by MIAD's Interior Architecture + Design department. It offers students, faculty, and staff a place to socialize, browse the Internet, grab a snack, or shoot a game of pool.
  • Utrecht Art Supplies, 143 N. Broadway
