The Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD) is seeking to hire a qualified full-time faculty member at the associate or assistant professor level to teach in its Humanities and Writing department. We are looking for a curious, dynamic, and motivated educator who is committed to the development of professional artists and designers and a colleague who will be an invested member of the department, MIAD, and the Milwaukee community. At MIAD, Humanities and Writing courses are inquiry-based and foster learning through a focus on research, multiple literacies, and an integrated, service-based approach. The ideal candidate has experience developing courses and curriculum and is able to teach at any level across the Humanities and Writing programs.

MIAD prepares students to be successful in the rapidly changing professions of art and design and how to be leaders in a rapidly changing culture. Teaching at MIAD is student-centered and requires a commitment to working closely with students within varying degree programs, integrating studio learning, research, writing, and critical discourse. Humanities and Writing faculty are skilled in active learning strategies which make instruction purposeful and meaningful for all students.
