Adam Carter ’16 received the 2016 Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) Merit Award, and represented MIAD at the IDSA 2016 Midwest District Design Conference at the University of Illinois. More details.

Welcome, Benno Rothschild
MIAD is thrilled to welcome  Benno Rothschild ’08 as the Manager of Alumni Engagement & Development Events.
Benno was a Sculpture major, and his work, Gertie Gets Her Ducks in a Row, was created with children from La Causa Crisis Nursery and is on permanent view on the RiverWalk near Mason St. He was the Service Learning Program Assistant Coordinator at MIAD from 2009 – 2013.


Benno was an AmeriCorps member at Access Art Baltimore, an after-school arts program for under-served children, where he was an art instructor and volunteer coordinator, and participated in fundraising support.


He also traveled to Uganda for several years to teach art and mentor youth, including his work with Gujja Ting African Art, a non-profit that he co-founded in 2010 and helped support through multifaceted events.


Among his many community endeavors, he has participated in the Jewish Community Center’s first Artist Laboratory, joined by Judith Harway and Natanya Blanck. His sculpture on view there was created with community youth.
