Gianina Gabriel began teaching first-year courses at MIAD in 2018. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and has been working in the arts and design industry since 2004. She began her career at Gallery 37, a Chicago beautification program, focused on developing and executing permanent public art and public performances.
Gianina began working in manufacturing in 2009 and she is passionate about using ethically sourced materials and local labor. Her leather goods company, Well-Loved Co. launched in 2014 and has been featured in publications in the American Midwest, American South, and the United Kingdom. She has consulted and manufactured for independent American designers, Lauren Winter, Lovelane Design, and Forest & Fin.
Gianina is passionate about revitalizing traditional craftsmanship methods with a blend of modern technology. She is a small business owner and community outreach organizer, who uses creative problem solving, team building and in-depth marketing to connect people and resources.
