Dale ShidlerDale William Shidler, Chair, 2D/4D Design and, Professor, Communication Design, joined the faculty at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD) in the fall of 1999. Before coming to MIAD he was on the faculty at Loyola University Chicago. Dale has a BA in Elementary Education from Bethel University/Indiana
and an MFA in Visual Communication Design from Kent State University/Ohio. In addition to his full-time teaching, Dale has given workshops for a variety of groups including the Society of Marketing Professionals, the Creative Educators Institute, and the University and College Designers Association. He has also
lectured extensively in many K–12 classrooms, providing design education to these groups in the Milwaukee area. Dale has been a presenter and served on panels for the Wisconsin Education Association Council, the University and College Designers Association, National Association of Schools of Art and Design and College Art Association.

Mr. Shidler has over thirty-five years of experience as a design professional and has worked in both corporate and agency settings as well as operating his own freelance design business. His clients have included the South Bend Chocolate Company, MIAD, University School Milwaukee, Taylor & Francis Books, Mennonite Central Committee and St. Honoré Confections.
