![]() Katelyn Kolis-Bowler ’13 For the first time, Illustration sophomores have joined juniors in designing award-winning posters for Penfield Children Center’s Annual Croquet Ball. The student collaboration with Penfield is art directed by Cramer-Krasselt, a major national advertising agency. “Cramer-Krasselt was so pleased with the results this year that they awarded an additional third prize,” said Illustration Professor Christiane Grauert, whose class of juniors participated with sophomores taught by Professor Chris Beetow. The first-place winning poster, by sophomore Katelyn Kolis-Bowler ’13, will be used as this year’s promotional poster and will be sold at the ball’s Live Auction on September 24. The second and third place winning work will be sold during the benefit’s Silent Auction:
“This is a great professional experience for our students. Cramer-Krasselt encouraged them to use type in a more illustrative way, and they had the opportunity to create work and see it produced in a very large scale,” said Grauert.
MIAD and Penfield, a non-profit serving at-risk children, have partnered over the last several years through an introduction by Cramer-Krasselt, which coordinates and directs the project on a pro bono basis. Learn more about MIAD’s Illustration program. |
