According to Curator Erica Lyn Schmidt '06 (Illustration), the exhibit aimed to "demonstrate what can be accomplished in the arts using resources that are available in the state of Wisconsin."

American Fantasy Classics, a collective of four recent MIAD alums, wants to "expand the capabilities of our community and be an example of collaboration and cooperation," according to Alec Regan '10 (Integrated Studio Arts), one of AFC's co-founders. So it's fitting that a community organization with similar goals, the Mary L. Nohl Fund, rewarded American Fantasy Classics with a prestigious 2011 Nohl Fellowship in the emerging artist category.

Jordan Waraksa '07 (Sculpture) and MIAD Sculpture Professor Will Pergl are two of ten Milwaukee artists that participated in "Current Tendencies II." The exhibition, which was on view through December 31 at Marquette University's Haggerty Museum of Art, paired the work of the artists with Marquette academics, who used their expertise to write reflections on the artists' works.
