Beginning January 1, 2012, all students may apply for Financial Aid for the 2012-13 academic year through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
NEW STUDENTS:
- Apply for a Personal Identification Number (PIN) online at www.pin.ed.gov. Parents of Dependent students must also apply for a PIN to electronically sigh the FAFSA.
- Go to fafsa.ed.gov. Click 'START HERE', create an account, and follow the instructions. You will need your social security number, the exact name on your social security card, and your date of birth.
- You will need tax and income information for both you and your parents, if you are a dependent student.
- Be sure to enter MIAD's school code - 014203 - and list MIAD first on your application. This will ensure MIAD receives your results and may award you maximum financial aid.
- You DO NOT have to wait to file your taxes. You can use estimated tax information to complete the FAFSA.
- MIAD HIGHLY recommends that you use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to import your IRS tax data when completing the FAFSA.
- If you only wish to receive a student loan, you still need to complete the FAFSA.
- If you have any questions, please contact MIAD's Office of Financial Aid.
