Creating the Scholarship-Level Portfolio — Grades 11-12
Course # PC 200
Relying on technical skill and product output is insufficient to create a portfolio that makes one's work stand out among a pool of applicants. In this intense studio session, the instructor begins by evaluating the student’s current portfolio and suggests ways to develop a more polished and individualized body of work. From that point, the process continues with an understanding of what a scholarship level portfolio entails. In-class and out-of-class assignments, group collaborations, workshops on photo and digital documentation, slide presentations and weekly discussions improve critique skills and the ability to communicate ideas. Drawing from the unclothed model is included in the studio work. A supply list will be sent to registrants. Prerequisites: Must be a junior or senior working at an advanced level. Parental consent required for students under 18 years of age.
