How to apply for Stafford Loans
In order to apply for and receive a Federal Stafford Student loan at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, you must be able to answer yes to the following statements: - You have been admitted to MIAD for 2008-2009.
- You have applied for federal financial aid through with the FAFSA form, it has been processed, and MIAD has received the results.
- Your financial aid application has been reviewed by the MIAD Financial Aid Office and a financial aid award notification has been sent to you for the 2008-2009 academic year.
- You are eligible for and have been awarded a Federal Stafford student loan (subsidized or unsubsidized) for the 2008-2009 academic year.
If you meet all of the conditions mentioned above, you may now click on the link below to apply for your Federal Stafford Student Loan on-line. FASTLoans If you do not complete the Stafford Loan "on-line" through FASTLoans, a paper loan application will be mailed to your home address. Do not get a loan application from your bank! You must complete the loan application on-line or use the one mailed to you by Great Lakes Higher Education Corporation. If you decline your Stafford Loan by returning your award letter with the Stafford Loan declined, you will not receive an application. We advise you to select the appropriate lender for your loan needs. MIAD works with a group of major regional and national lenders. The MIAD Financial Aid Office feels that these lenders have established themselves as quality financial institutions. A student attending MIAD will complete the Stafford application only once. In succeeding years of attendance at MIAD, the Stafford Loan will be processed through an electronic update of this initial loan application. You will be notified when this happens.
