Summer 2008 Middle School Art Camps:
Students in grades 6-9 explore creative opportunities in both fine art and
design fields. Sessions run July 28 through August 8.
3-D Caricature Design
Students develop skills and explore the exciting career possibilities of an Industrial (Product) Designer through the creation of a 3-dimensional caricature. Concepts of color, 3-D shape and form, painting sculpting and drawing are discussed. Students learn the basic methods of mechanical drawing, workable design solutions and model development. Tuition includes most supplies.

Rockin' Paper and Scissors
This course explores paper's astounding flexibility to generate many different art forms. Students learn the fundamentals of paper crafting and experiment with a rich range of collage techniques to create both two-dimensional and three-dimensional artworks. ‘Our primary tools are scissors, paper, and glue; there are opportunities to combine them with mixed media such as drawing and painting. Example projects might include creating complex paper bugs, exotic flowers, or other forms taken from nature; or the construction of imaginative characters and masks inspired by world mythology.
