Job Announcements and Other Opportunities
Art/design-related full-time and part-time positions, freelance and
commission projects, internships*, and exhibit opportunities are posted via
email and outside the Career Services Office. Contact Career Services to be
placed on the email list or visit the office. *Many internships offer
compensation in addition to course credit. Other off-campus jobs are
also posted.
Web Sites for Job Search and Professional Research
Several web sites specific to art/design professions are bookmarked at
http://www.blinkpro.com/members/miadcareers. The sites are organized by
professional in folders. Most of the folders contain job search sites,
professional organizations/associations, directories of businesses, and
other professional resources.
Resume Referral Career Services maintains a resume
file for MIAD students and graduates. These resumes are referred to
businesses and organizations who contact MIAD recruiting for art/design
related full-time and part-time positions. Resumes are kept and referred as
Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) files. Students and graduates may email their resume to
A release form will need to be completed, which
will be provided.
Career Library The MIAD Library (River Level, room
100) houses career resources maintained by Career Services. There are over
450 books, magazines, and newsletters specifically about art/design
professions, the job search process, and directories of business names. All
materials can be searched by keywords using any of the computer terminals in
the library.
Business Contact Information The Career Services
Office maintains a database of art/design-related businesses, including
those who have recruited at MIAD. Students and graduates may access this
database directly. Contact the Career Services Office for details.
Advising The Career Services staff are available to
discuss and provide information about your career and job questions.
Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments assure availability.
