MIAD converted a former department store into a creatively designed student residence hall for approximately 150 students.

Residence Hall living provides students with social, communal and cultural opportunities that enhance students' education as artists and designers, as persons, and as citizens. The residence hall director, who lives in an apartment in the facility, supervises a staff of student resident assistants who promote an engaged, respectful and secure community life for resident students.

MIAD requires all full-time foundations students to live in the Residence Hall, unless the student meets one of the following criteria: has a permanent residence within the greater Milwaukee area; is at least 21 years of age; is married; is a custodial parent; or has special needs which cannot be met at the Residence Hall.

The Residence Hall features double rooms (with some singles and triples) arranged in small suites sharing a bathroom and lounge. Each of the three floors of suites is centered around a large main common area. The basement floor of the residence hall provides complete laundry facilities, bike storage, a small kitchen area, smoking room, program room and recreational area.
