Scholarship Luncheon honors donors, students

Donors and scholarship recipients gathered on October 29 for MIAD’s annual Scholarship Luncheon honoring donors to the 2008-09 Scholarship Fund and donors to Creative Fusion 2007 and 2008, which raised more than a half million dollars in scholarship support. Donors and students also got to know one another in an intimate setting surrounded by the students’ artwork. 

Milwaukee’s most original art performance, auction and sale returned for a third year September 20 to benefit MIAD’s academic programs. Alumni, students, faculty and staff joined community members and area artists for a dynamic evening in the studios of Flux Design. Hosted and presented by Flux with the Alumni Association, the evening was dedicated to the memory of Steve Lacey, MIAD 3-D Lab Director and faculty member, who passed away on September 18.

Creative Fusion returns for a sold-out success

The Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design's Creative Fusion fundraiser returned as a sold-out success on May 3 to benefit scholarships at Wisconsin’s only independent college of art and design.

Nov. 8 marks return of Open Canvas benefit

The eagerly awaited Open Canvas 2008, a fundraiser benefiting Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design scholarships and The William F. Eisner Museum of Advertising and Design, returns Saturday, November 8, 6 – 11 p.m., at 320 E. Buffalo St. in Milwaukee’s Third Ward.

Sixteen students from the Chicago-based Marwen Pre-College Summer Program enjoyed an all-day campus visit and drawing workshop at MIAD on June 22 that aims to help them make their college selections for next fall.

Milwaukee’s most original art performance returned this year with new excitement to benefit the scholarship funds of the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, Wisconsin’s only independent, four-year college of art and design. Art in Flux was held on Saturday, September 15, 5 – 10 p.m., in the dynamic studios of Flux Design, 811 E. Vienna Ave., Milwaukee.

Lubars host Creative Fusion – a creative success!

Event chairs Madeleine and David Lubar hosted 320 guests at the sell-out Creative Fusion, a new, celebratory benefit event held Saturday, May 5, in the energetic and unique atmosphere of Wisconsin’s only independent college of art and design.
