MIAD to confer honorary doctorate on Lt. Gov. Lawton May 10

The Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design will confer an honorary doctorate on Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton at its commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 10, 11 a.m.

Commencement is held at the Milwaukee Public Library’s Centennial Hall, 733 N. 8th St.

Creative Fusion 2008

Last year’s sold-out event returns to benefit MIAD scholarships

Four executives from R.W. Baird & Co. and their wives will host this year’s Creative Fusion benefit Saturday evening, May 3, at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, Wisconsin’s only independent four-year college of art and design. The event begins at 6 p.m. at the college’s Third Ward campus, 273 E. Erie Street.

2008 Senior Exhibition

Milwaukee's largest and most eagerly awaited spring show – MIAD’s 2008 Senior Exhibition – opens Gallery Night, Friday, April 18, 5 – 9 p.m.

The exhibition celebrates the innovative works of 145 artists and designers representing the college’s 11 Bachelor of Fine Arts majors. It continues through May 10 at MIAD’s Third Ward Campus, 273 E. Erie Street. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tues. - Sat.

Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton announced on March 28 at MIAD a new task force on arts and creativity in education, convened to ensure that Wisconsin has the creative workforce and entrepreneurial talent needed for in the 21st century global economy.

MIAD holds tuition for 2008-09

MIAD is pleased to announce that Board of Trustees has determined to hold tuition for the 2008/2009 academic year. MIAD is strongly committed to keeping cost from being a barrier to higher education. 

Tuition for full-time students remains $24,100 per year, or $12,050 each semester.  Tuition for part-time study (fewer than 12 credits) is $805 per credit.
