Dean ValadezPrint

Dean Valadez received his MFA in Painting from Boston University and his BFA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee; he has exhibited in Boston, MA; Dallas, TX; Chicago, IL; New Haven, CT; and locally in the John Michael Kohler Art Center, the Haggerty Museum of Art and various other venues in Wisconsin.

Primarily a painter, Dean maintains an interdisciplinarian mindset in order to better inform his art. His work envelopes painting, drawing, etching, monoprints, digital prints and video as a means to express ideas of the human condition through ephemerality. Often, this involves social, political, and theological implications as these issues surround him and those around him.

His most current works maintain an Orwellian atmosphere, drawing attention to futurist implications surrounding technology as it pertains to biological functionings. The works seek to marry analog and digital behaviors in the dispensation of the fullness of times, as an unveiling of its true dystopic form.
