Colin Matthes is an interdisciplinary artist (working in installation, drawing, painting, printmaking, and teaching). Colin's drawings and paintings examine lives often overlooked. The subjects of these works range from interactions with people in everyday life to examining global issues. His installation work invites the viewer into confined spaces that ask the viewer to alter the way they view (and contemplate) the work. His artwork challenges the viewer while simultaneously encouraging their interpretation.

Colin's artwork has been exhibited in Toronto, Chicago, New York, Oakland, and Milwaukee and is included in the Library of Congress Permanent Collection. Colin self-publishes the art zine, Ideas in Pictures, which is included in the 2004 and 2005 touring collection of the Projet Mobilivre-Bookmobile Project.
