I believe that the student should be exposed to social design through exploration
of handicapped and environmental issues. My interest in environmental awareness
and sustainability is important to me and also critical in developing the next
wave of designers.
John earned a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Illinois at Chicago
and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit.
He has been an assistant professor in the Department of Art, Art History &
Design at the University of Notre Dame and has also held positions at the University
of Illinois at Chicago and Germany’s Fach Hochschüle fur Gestaltung-Pforzheim.
John’s professional background includes sustainable website and resource
development for IDSA, development partner in the use and specification of bio-based
plastics at Eastman Chemical Plastics and consulting work at Utilimaster Corporation.
