Bus Shelter DesignPrint

Ran from Mar 2, 2007 to Mar 31, 2007
Entrance Gallery

This exhibition represents, in microcosm, a major focus of the Interior Architecture + Design major -- artistically driven, reality-based design. In this series of efforts spanning four distinct classes over two semesters, students were called on to envision a different kind of bus shelter -- one that sought to both elevate and enrich the commuters' experience while they wait for their ride.

The work combines a broad range of media -- from sketches to finished renderings, from study models through finished models, to full-scale details. Through a comprehensive process unfolding in successive stages, the students have taken their designs from conception to the threshold of realization.

IA + D Professor Robert Lynch, Part-time faculty member Deb Wolf and 3-D Lab Supervisor Dick Ivens taught the classes.
