As a community-building project in the Interior Architecture + Design curriculum, MIAD sophomores and seniors began the semester by designing, building, and sleeping overnight in cardboard shelters.

After pre-fabbing the shelters inside MIAD, the students set up their homes in Catalano Square, a small park across from MIAD's main building, and spent the night of Sept. 22 there.

This exhibition documents the entire process, featuring sketches, models, the occupancy permit from the City of Milwaukee and several of cardboard shelters themselves.
