Reclusive artist Mary L. Nohl seldom left her Fox Point home during her lifetime. But the $13 million art support fund established two years ago with her bequest to the Greater Milwaukee Foundation is spreading the work of Milwaukee-area artists to audiences across America and abroad. This exhibit, curated by MIAD's Galleries Director Mark Lawson and UWM's Interim INOVA Director Bruce Knackert, features local work by that has been exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, Beijing, Austria, Sante Fe and other distant venues with help from the Nohl Fund. A companion exhibition of the work by the 2004 recipients of the Nohl Fellowships will take place at the Institute of Visual Arts in October.
