These photographs by John Ruebartsch document the diverse life and events of Milwaukee's Riverwest neighborhood.

Ruebartsch specializes in capturing character and culture in photo-documentaries, such as his studies of the Tarahumara Indians of southern Mexico, or the unique surfer culture of the frigid Great Lakes region.

This exhibit showcases one of his longest running series, the documentation of his own neighborhood: the quirky people and activities that give Riverwest its rich character.
