 On Saturday, November 20, from 6 – 11p.m., over 80 artists will assemble in Milwaukee's Third Ward, claim an easel and turn a blank canvas into a unique work of art.
At the Open Canvas 2010 benefit each brushstroke supports Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design scholarships and The William F. Eisner Museum of Advertising and Design (online). This most eagerly awaited annual event also provides a singular opportunity for attendees to watch artists create unique paintings, bid on those works via silent auction and take home their favorites that evening.

 Jasmine Barmore, Emilo De Torre Jasmine Barmore '11 (Illustration) received the 2010 Northwestern Mutual Service Learning Award for outstanding service to at-risk teens at TRUE Skool. The non-profit organization uses cultural arts to educate and empower youth from different backgrounds and cultures to become leaders for positive social change in their communities.

Donors and scholarship recipients gathered on March 10 for MIAD’s annual Scholarship Luncheon, which celebrates the generous donors who funded the 2010 Scholarship Fund and creates a unique intimate setting for them to get to know student recipients. The event also honored donors to the Creative Fusion Scholarship Fund, which has raised close to a million dollars in scholarship support since its inception in 2007.
