In the Haas family, the grape doesn't fall far from the vine.

Allan Haas '77 (Industrial Design) never pushed his daughter Karin '08 (Printmaking) into the arts, or to attend his alma mater, MIAD. He didn't have to because, as Allan says, she was "an artist from day one."

The creative energy of MIAD students, alumni and faculty will heat up Milwaukee galleries for January Gallery Night on Friday, January 20 and Gallery Day on Saturday, January 21.

Works by five 2010 MIAD Communication Design graduates were recently exhibited in China as part of Beijing Design Week.

"The Alumni of the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design" recently completed its run at the Portage Center for the Arts. According to Curator Erica Lyn Schmidt '06 (Illustration), the exhibit aimed to "demonstrate what can be accomplished in the arts using resources that are available in the state of Wisconsin."
